Senior Pastor
Matt is married to Nancy and has four children. Pastor Matt has a passion to see people grow in their relationship with Jesus and each other. He spends many hours alongside ministry leaders empowering and encouraging them in their specific ministries. He is gifted in his ability to sit down one on one with someone and walk with them through life’s difficulties. Matt also works heavily on the administrative side of the church. He often handles the details that would otherwise fall between the cracks. Matt’s unique perspective of balancing task and relationship are a blessing to the ministries of Community Alliance Church.
Children and Family Ministries Director
Nate is married to Laura and has 3 children and has lived in Detroit Lakes since 2004. He has a passion for working with the next generation of Jesus followers and discipling them into a deeper relationship with the Lord. Family connection is crucial to parents raising up their children in the faith and his goal is to really bring together church families. Nate oversees all the children activities from birth through 5th grade which range from Sunday School to Nursery to Wednesday nights to VBS. He is always excited when families come along side their children to raise them up in faith in Jesus!
Associate Pastor
Before coming on staff at Community Alliance Church I taught high school math for four years, and for seven years have been coaching high school tennis. While teaching and coaching, I served in leadership at the church my wife and I were attending, as well as lead various Bible studies. In the spring of 2018 I was a part of launching Alliance North, a church plant in North Fargo, leading worship and teaching. In 2020, I began taking courses online to become fully accredited within the Christian and Missionary Alliance. I graduated from that program in the spring of 2021, and became licensed with the Alliance in May of 2022. I served as the Interim Youth Pastor here this past school year and am excited to serve currently as your full time Associate Pastor. I enjoy playing music, writing, I’m trying to like reading more, and I am almost always down to spend time with friends and family. I have been married for approaching six years to Lauren, and this last year we welcomed our first child, Calvin (children’s books weren’t what I had in mind when I wanted to like reading more, but I’ll take what I can get!).
Bookkeeper / Receptionist
Mandi is married with 2 boys and wears many "hats" in our office. She functions as the communications hub for our church. She is the warm smile that greets everyone that walks in the door and the one that keeps the gears turning. Mandi is often pulled in several directions at the same time. Although she is often knee deep in numbers, she also has the God given gift to make people feel valuable. Mandi is an invaluable asset to Community Alliance Church.

Custodian/Maintenance
Paul Edwards has lived in Detroit lakes over the past 28 years. He is married to his wife Christine and has two children. He loves to design and work on new projects whether it’s working with metal or wood. He enjoys keeping the church clean, but God has really gifted him with the ability to make people feel welcomed as they walk into the church for an event or a bible study. Paul has a heart for Jesus and in the opportunities he has, he wants to be a helping hand to those around him, sharing Christ’s love through word and action.
Deaf Ministry
Pete and Lori are married and have four children. They have been called to ministry a bit later in life than most. Both Pete and Lori have been a part of and/or worked with members of the Deaf Community over 100 years, combined. They realized the barriers that existed with Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people to have access to God’s Word as well as being able to have the experience of belonging to a church family and feeling like they belonged. God continues to open doors for them to change that in our rural area and beyond. God is moving in the Deaf Community and as they begin to connect with other groups, churches, and individuals who share their passion of bringing God's word and love to the members of the Deaf Community. They hope to continue to grow God’s Kingdom and bring others to know of His love in their own language and for them to know and that they belong to a loving church family.
